How to create the perfect Spring wedding look on your stationery

The gorgeous atmosphere of Spring brings about a romantic aura and fresh, bright scenes that make the season perfect for weddings. But how do we reflect the beauty of this time of year on your stationery?

Well, there are many ways we can incorporate Spring into design, from blossom trees and soft wildflowers to romantic calligraphy and natural cardstocks, there is ample choice to really make your stationery unique.

If you’re looking to add something different to your stationery suite or to keep up with trends, read on to see how you can elevate your stationery ready for the season of romance.

FLORALS

Okay so first up let’s talk florals. Floral details are a classic way to bring romance to stationery, but for Spring especially we want to focus on softer pastel florals, watercolour drawings and spring time flowers.

It’s ideal with spring time to either go for larger oversized florals, or alternatively, consider wildflowers for a more delicate approach. This gives the spring time meadow kind of look and will always look beautifully romantic and feminine. Flowers also symbolise different things so bear in mind the kind of flowers you’re featuring, for example white lillies are traditionally used for funerals so maybe avoid those, but choose wisely and make sure they’re reflective of the florals you’ve selected for your wedding day.

Another idea when it comes to florals is to just use petals, this will give a softer look and if you’re more of a minimal lover, this will work great just to add a dash of soft colour.

COLOUR

Spring time colours, aren’t they just dreamy! Now with Spring there are oodles of colour choices which is fantastic for options but tricky if you can’t decide. My advice is to either go with a range of pastels or go for two colours that work well together i.e. blush and sage.

When it comes to colour it can be difficult to choose, but here are some popular spring colours and what they will add to your stationery to help you decide:

  1. Soft pinks – whether it’s blush or baby pink this will bring a romantic, feminine and delicate colour, it will brighten any room and will go with lots of other colours if you wanted to add a touch of silver, gold, cream or champagne

  2. Blues – stick to lighter blues here, baby, dusty or duck egg, these will keep the Spring vibe alive. Whilst blue can be a cold colour, the right shade will bring a fresh, spring time aura and is a little less on the feminine side. It also has an elegance to it for a more luxurious wedding look

  3. Natural foliage – if you don’t want too much colour, opting for white/cream with simple green foliage can also be a lovely spring look, this gives a fresh, natural vibe to a wedding and will keep things minimally simple.

  4. Neutrals – opting for neutral colours will keep things quaint but very classy. Consider a champagne, bronze, or soft earth tone, but use it sparingly so you don’t darken rooms too much.

  5. Soft purples – going for a lilac, lavender or even mauve will bring a beautiful spring colour to your wedding. Whilst more on the feminine spectrum, purple is a gender neutral colour and will bring a calm and peaceful atmosphere to your day whilst adding a delicate romantic vibe. Consider mixing purples for a spring garden look or add foliage to contrast the colour.

  6. Mixed florals – if in doubt, go for mixed florals to bring a pop of colour. Whilst pastels are more often associated with spring, bold colours can work just as well, using flowers like daffodils, daisies, peonies, or poppies will help add bold colour and bring a beautiful spring meadow look.

MINIMALISM

If like many modern couples you’re looking for more of a minimal design, then opting for more elaborate fonts and using venue sketches may just be the way to go. These work in any season but for the Spring if you add soft leaves or calligraphy, this will bring a delicate romantic edge that resonates with the season.

You could also consider going totally minimal on the invite and then adding a soft floral envelope liner/pastel envelope, wildflower wax seal or use soft pastel chiffon ribbon to lighten the look.

Whichever look you opt for just make sure it’s light, bright and soft to bring that Spring vibe into the look. If you’re ready to get to work designing your stationery, book your free consultation here to get started.
