We know that wedding trends evolve every year and 2025 is bringing some exciting new looks that could completely change your stationery and bring a modern twist.
Next year is all about big bold looks, from bright colours to oversized florals, 2025 weddings are beautiful, eye catching and extravagant. Brides and Grooms are opting for larger floral displays, arches, bright colour blends and even mixed bridesmaid colours. But how do you incorporate this into your stationery? There are many ways these ideas can be infused, from print and added layers to backing patterns, envelope liners and even embellishments.
So if you want to make your wedding really stand out and add splashes of colour, here are 6 stationery trends for 2025 to keep your wedding up to date.
1. Bold colours
Adding colour to stationery has been said to be daring and risky, it’s quite easy to overwhelm a design and lose the focus of the details. But, done the right way, colour can definitely add elegance and beauty.
Consider adding bright florals rather than pastels to catch the eye and really make a bold statement. Or, you could add dried florals in brighter colours to finish your look and add depth. Other options include coloured envelopes, envelope liners, wax seals, printed bands or ribbons, these will give you rich colour without too much effort.
2. Large florals
In past years with weddings we’ve seen delicate wildlfowers or small foral details, but 2025 is all about going big.
Consider enlarging florals or for that modern style, left or right align text to leave space for one large floral detail. This will add a confidence to the design without overwhelming it, and whilst remaining elegant and stylish.
3. Mixed colours
In years gone by we’ve often seen a colour scheme comprising of one or maybe two contrasting colours, for example cherry red or red and gold. But weddings next year are doing things slightly differently. We’re seeing more couples opt for mixed colours, usually brights, and sometimes even clashing colours for you unique trend-setting brides to be.
This is a great way to add colour to your day and if you can’t pick one colour scheme, you can have multiple! Remember though that depending on when your wedding is taking place, this might be tricky with florals, so ask your florist first about colours and florals before choosing your stationery colours.
4. Sustainable stationery
This has been a growing wedding trend for many years, and is continuing into 2025. To make your stationery sustainable, consider using recycled cardstocks (I offer a whole range of these), and recyclable materials to make your stationery eco-friendly if guests don’t want to keep the items.
Steer away from foils, gold leaf, toner inks and glitters for a fully sustainable stationery suite.
5. Rustic trends
From barn weddings, to country houses and natural gardens, rustic is all in for 2025. The modern twist to rustic brings about trends like seeded paper, fleck card, kraft looks, natural/earthy tones and gentle garden florals.
If you’re opting for a more relaxed, rustic vibe, definitely consider playing with textured cardstocks and adding gentle florals for romance.
6. Illustrations & watercolour
And… my favourite. Illustrations and watercolour elements really add elegance to a design and bring a beautiful sophistication to stationery.
Adding a venue sketch or soft watercolour drawing can work for both classy and rustic weddings alike and these can be used across your whole stationery suite, even on the day on signage and menus. Giving you a consistent look for a professional finish to wow your guests and add that personal touch.
